Ashley is a bundle of joy! She's eager to go to school. She's happy to go to church. She's loves to run errands with Mommy or Daddy. She's content to play tea party for hours and hours.
Ashley is beginning to really enjoy her new school. She's making new friends and loves telling us all about them when she gets home. She has the routine down now. Every morning they have a morning message and each child contributes something to the letter. She loves to point out her drawings so we know exactly which one she made. A couple of days she has even taken a "real nap." Her class read the book A Bad Case of Stripes and it made a huge impression on Ashley. She was telling us in great detail everything that happened in the story. We checked it out from the library and Ashley would do anything to be able to read the book every day, multiple times a day. She even did her own illustrations for the book that turned out very well.
Ashley patiently, or not so patiently, waited all day for friends to come over for the "Tiger Party." When Daddy told her we were having a tiger party Ashley's first response was to ask what kind of cake we were having. When she figured out it wasn't a birthday party, but a football party she was very disappointed there would be no cake. Saturday was a very long day waiting for the party to start. She passed some of time riding the lawn mower with Daddy and waving her LSU tiger flag all over the front yard. It was a good time by all. She made a new friend that night too and cannot wait to play together again!
Ashley had a great Labor Day weekend even without football. She loved swimming with friends, even though the water was unusually cold, playing basketball with Daddy, and enjoying the play set being put back together again. She was also so excited for Mimi and Willy to visit. Every day she would tell me how many more days it would be before they got her. She was very concerned how Willy would find our new house. She was thrilled to go to the doughnut shop and get new pink shoes with Willy. But she doesn't like to wear her new pink shoes in our yard because the shoes get too dirty!
Ashley is really looking forward to cooler days, especially since Daddy got her a pink soccer ball! That's what happens when Ashley and Daddy run errands together. She's had a good time learning to kick the ball. Ashley started dance class again, so we're ready for our next adventure!
