It has been a fun month! What a change from our usual routine! Ashley and Addie spent a weekend with Mimi and Willy. Ashley had a lot of fun helping Mimi make heart cookies and learning all about VHS tapes. Ashley did not understand why you had to wait for a tape to rewind. Can’t you just push play Mimi? Mimi and Willy also took Ashley to Build-A-Bear where Ashley got to pick out a ladybug for Valentine’s Day. Ashley loves her bug!
At school there were a few special dress up days. The first day was “crazy” day. Ashley had recently come out of her room from naptime with a head full of bows, so we decided that was pretty crazy! Ashley wore her ballet pajamas and a head full of bows for crazy day. Another day she was to dress as her favorite character. Ashley decided to be Snow White for that day. Her class also had a “Special Friend Picnic” party. Ashley took her new friend Clarabelle, Madaline’s horse, she got for her birthday as her special friend. All the friends in Ashley’s class had treats and played games with their special friends that day.
Ashley got to spend a lot of time at home because we had a total of 5 snow days, more like ice days! It was a blast! Ashley said she was going to wake up and there would be snow. Every morning she woke up, looked out her window, and came running in the living room telling us there was snow. We finger painted, colored, made Valentine’s for school, played games, cooked, and read so many books. We had the best time together. It was way too cold to be outside, so when it finally warmed up a little bit Ashley and Daddy built a snowman. We couldn’t find one of Ashley’s mittens, so she wore one of Addie’s mittens. When she threw a snowball the mitten would fall off. We all laughed! Ashley was very sad the day our snowman went away. She helped find all the buttons on the ground so we'll be ready the next time we want to build a snowman. We had a great time together.
Ashley had a surprise visit to the Bitty Baby store. She didn’t know we were going to the Galleria and when we turned the corner and she saw the American Girl sign she said, “It’s the Bitty Baby store!” She was truly thrilled with our short shopping spree!
Ashley was happy to share her Valentine’s with friends at school. She had a good time passing out special notes to all of her friends. And she really loved the blue cupcake! Daddy gave all of his Valentine’s flowers for the special day. Ashley walked around all night saying, “I’m a princess and this is my rose forever!” She even tried to sleep with her rose. And, for Valentine’s Ashley made a special “silly face” picture just for Aunt M. She said over and over, “Be sure to send it to Aunt M!” Ashley is in a silly face picture mood these days!
