Ashley's 46th Month Update

Ashley's such a big girl! Every day it seems she trying new things on her own and testing her independence. Some days she's more confident in her abilities than others. She seems to be getting dressed more and more on her own, but buttons can really slow you down! Ashley is constantly asking to take her bath on her own also, which depending on the day, can be a great thing for Mommy and Daddy!

Ashley absolutely loves to play school! She likes to sit on different chairs around the house and read to her "class." She also likes for every one to go to the window to see what the weather is going to be like for the day. Ashley's finding all kinds of signs of fall now that the leaves on the trees are changing. Her class recently changed rooms and when we walk by her old room she refers to it as her "real class." When she first moved classrooms Ashley would take Mommy around the room to show all the different centers where they play. She was super excited to show the computer center!

Ashley is very much into the holidays. She was really looking forward to Halloween and getting to wear her costume. We missed going to a few of our planned events because Ashley came down with strep throat right before Halloween. She was really sick for several days and it took a lot of discussion to get her to take her medicine. Luckily it was a lot easier this time, but Ashley is not a fan of taking antibiotics. How many 3 years olds do you know that would rather take a pill than a liquid? Now you know one! Thankfully, but the time the 31st rolled around Ashley was feeling some what better. She picked a picture of a jack-o-lantern from one of her books as the design for our pumpkin. Ashley and Mommy were very proud of the jack-o-lantern they made together. Ashley would not touch any of the insides of the pumpkin, but did help to draw the pieces of the face. She was so excited all day to put on her pumpkin fairy costume. She put it on right after she ate her afternoon snack and ran around the house until dark. She lead Addie and Mommy all around the neighborhood picking out houses with lights to ring the doorbell. She was very interested in seeing which neighbors had pets. Although one house had some very loud dogs and both she and Addie turned around and head towards the street without even waiting for the candy! No loud dogs for these girls!

Ashley and Mommy have had some fun times shopping on the weekends lately. On one particular outing she got new sunglasses for her, shirts for Daddy, a new plate for Addie, and a sweater for Mommy. Very recently, she was up and dressed by 7:30 AM on a Saturday ready to do some Christmas shopping. Mommy wasn't ready quite that early! When we finally got to go Ashley was very surprised to get to make a Christmas ornament at one of the stores. It was a really fun outing together. Now Ashley is counting down the days until Thanksgiving while pointing out all the Christmas decorations that keep showing up all over town.
