Ashley has loved being back at school! She really likes her new classroom, although when we walk by her old classroom she says "That's my real class." One thing she really likes about her new classroom is that she can be a classroom helper. She is excited to tell us if she has been a lunch helper or a calendar helper. And apparently being the weather helper is super exciting because you get to look out the window and tell every one what you see. One downer is her new teacher does not have an American flag yet so they can say the pledge of allegiance, but her teacher is working on it! Another new thing for Ashley is show and tell. Every Friday she has something different she is supposed to bring to share with her friends about herself. The first week she was to bring her favorite fruit, which is cantaloupe. She also brought something soft (a bear) and her favorite stuffed animal (which that particular day was a lamb!).
There have been many celebrations this month! Ashley has helped many of her classmates celebrate birthdays at school. She has come home numerous days with traces of bright colored icing all over her face and hands. One day she even brought Mommy a treat, a dress covered in hot pink icing! That was a real treat to get clean!! The rings on top of the cupcakes are a big hit in her classroom. Ashley has helped some of her friends celebrate birthdays at home also. She's getting used to going to a party every Saturday afternoon. And there was no better way to greet the beginning of football season than to have a party at our house! Ashley was ready to "geaux" when all her friends arrived to help cheer on the Tigers!
