Ashley's had a pretty good month! She had a blast at our Christmas in July party with friends. She loved picking a number and then picking a book. She had fun singing Christmas Carols and even made a few crafts to be ready to decorate her room in December! When we got home she wanted to read several of our Christmas books before bed time for several days after.
Ashley completed the summer reading program at our local library and has been reaping the rewards! She earned free chicken nuggets so for lunch one day we went to Chic-fil-a. On the way we stopped at the bank. Ashley said, "What are we doing?" I told her we were getting money. She said, "That's not very tasty!" On to Chic-fil-a! She also earned a ticket to the circus. It was her first time to go to the circus and she had a fabulous time! She loved the elephants and the clowns. She talked about it for days afterwards telling us she really needed to go back again. She keeps saying we need to go back to the "AAA" (American Airlines Center) to see the elephants again. Maybe next year!
Ashley's doing a great job of learning to ride her tricycle when we can go outside. There are very few times we are at home and it's not too hot to go outside, but when she does she can easily make it around the block. She had tried on several occasions to ride her tricycle in the house, but gets so frustrated. She loves going to park, which we have gone to most mornings. And she's had play dates with friends dressing up as princesses. Oh the fun of dressing up! When we are at home she's figuring out how to share toys with Addie, which isn't very easy. And Addie loves to get in the middle of what Ashley is playing with and completely destroy the set up! Many times Ashley has taken her toys to the bed, the only for sure place Addie can't get to yet!
And there have been 2 very quiet afternoons of play. The first one ended up where Ashley was found covered head to toe with an entire bottle of baby powder. Everything was white and little hand and footprints had followed every where she had moved! Another afternoon she was found with solid green hands from playing with her stamps. She then proceeded to try to get her hair out of her face and in return, her hair was green too! Luckily, in both cases, clean up wasn't too bad!
Ashley loves to play Guitar Hero with daddy, but this month learned a new game, Wii Bowling. She woke up from nap time and found Mommy and Daddy playing in the living room. Not one to stand around and watch, she quickly joined in! It took her a couple of frames to figure out how the controller worked, but she's now a pro! The second time we played, when asked if she needed help she replied, "No thank you, but I appreciate the offer." Ha!
