Ashley had a BIG month! We started with our feet hitting the ground during Spring Break. This year we stayed home for Spring Break. We visited the library, planted flowers, played at the park, and played in the backyard. We really enjoyed time around the house. Ashley was a big help getting the house ready for Easter. She helped put all the eggs in the baskets and putting all the baskets in the right place. She loved playing with all the eggs all month.
Ashley is still making requests for “rock and roll” which doesn’t bother Daddy at all. If Ashley asks, then he has to play, right? Ashley likes to contribute by singing. Of course for a lot of the songs she has her own lyrics! She’s also “teaching” Addie to play the guitar.
We attended the Easter party at church. Ashley got there just in time to take advantage of the bounce house before too many other bigger kids got there. She giggled the entire time jumping up and down. When it was time for the Easter egg hunt Ashley found the special golden egg! Mommy and Daddy where a little more excited about her find the prize egg than she was. She turned in the egg and received a bag full of goodies along with all the chocolates and prizes in the other eggs she collected.
We traveled Easter weekend for Aunt Ne’s wedding. Knowing Ashley it was a gamble if she would make it down the aisle. When the moment came she did it! She was so cute in her pink dress! It was a very full weekend with celebrating Easter the very next morning. Ashley was very excited when the Easter Bunny left her a kite in her basket. (Ashley has been preparing for Easter by wearing her bunny “rope” around the house.) She had another Easter egg hunt at Maw Maw & Paw Paw’s house. She would find the egg, shake it, and run to the next one. She knows how to enjoy every moment!
Ashley continues to enjoy school and swimming. She’s starting to recognize the sounds words begin with and will frequently ask what letter a word starts with. And it’s really funny to watch her count everything! She counts the blueberries on her plate, the socks in her drawer, the books on her shelf. She likes counting. In other school news, we found out Ashley is the vegetable queen in her class! In Ashley’s class their meal times are self-serve. And apparently her friends know if they want a serving of veggies they better get to the spoon before Ashley! In swimming Ashley was very excited to get her first pair of goggles. She likes to go down to the bottom of the pool and pick up the rings one at a time. She also swam the width of the pool for the first time. Very exciting!
