What a great month it has been! We took one of our outings as a family of four to the mall! Usually the only place we all go together is church, but it was a fun time for all of us. Ashley ate a HUGE piece of pizza and Addie was happy as could be riding around in the stroller!
This month Ashley discovered a new treat. One day she asked me for white Cheez-Its. I didn't know what she wanted so I asked her what it was. She said, "It's food. I can eat them!" We stood in the pantry for a while trying to figure out what she was talking about. Turns out she loves marshmallows! And some where along the way Ashley has come up with the phrase, "My crocker's thirsty" and "I need my water crocker." We have no idea where she came up with this, but it means she needs a drink!
We celebrated Halloween in a big way this year! We visited a Pumpkin Patch where Ashley had a ball running from pumpkin to pumpkin! She ran around a small hay maze, but was disappointed her feet were too short to drive the tractors! Ashley was Little Bo Peep and Addie was her lost sheep. First, we dressed up with our Game Night friends. Ashley ran around all night with a pirate, a puppy dog, and Batman! Next we went to Trunk-or-Treat at our church. Ashley did not understand why we were walking around a parking lot going from car to car. We had to help her put out her pumpkin to get her candy. Next, she had a party with her school friends. Then she dressed up again for Trick or Treating on Main Street in Grapevine. On the way she put her face in her Jack-o-Lantern and said, "I don't have any candy in my pumpkin purse. Let's go get some!" So we did! We went with my friend and her daughter. At first Ashley was really dragging behind and again we had to pull her up to the people and hold up her "pumpkin purse." By the end of the night she had it down and was running from place to place and sticking her "pumpkin purse" up to be filled! Then, on Halloween night we went to a party at Runway Theatre where Ashley helped the Runway Witch find her lost candy. Ashley's bucket was so full that she needed help carrying it when we went to a couple of houses on our street. Ashley was sad when all the Halloween decorations were put away, but said, "It's time to get ready for Thanksgiving!" When she went back to school she told Miss Ash it was October, not November!
And what about school! Ashley surprised us with telling us Louisiana was shaped like a boot. She can also identify Oklahoma, New Mexico, and of course Texas! She was excited when she found Texas on her charm bracelet!
Ashley's kicking it into high gear at swimming, literally! All of the sudden she is kicking her legs so much that she can now swim the width of the pool! Every one in her class was so excited when Ashley started kicking that they all clapped for her. She also likes to "dive" down to the bottom of the pool, pick things up, and then drift back up..
On another note, Ashley hasn't had a lot of sleep this month. Ashley likes to host tea parties at 3 AM! Many nights Mommy and Daddy have had to go into her room to "break up" the party! It's on these occasions that she has hosted a party that she actual takes a nap in the afternoon, but more than not Ashley's not taking afternoon naps. No naps....no fun for Mommy and Daddy!
Ashley really loves Addie. She hasn't been jealous at all. When riding home from school Ashley asks to have her window back. In Daddy's car she sits on the left side and in Mommy's car she right side. She wants her window back when she gets in Mommy's car!
