As usual we've had a fun filled month with Ashley. Never a dull moment with this girl!
She's continuing to love school. She started taking dance classes on Friday mornings and got her first pair of ballet shoes. Last week she was standing at the window when the dance teacher drove up. She screamed with excitement and told Ms. Ash to put her ballet shoes on because she was ready to go! Ashley loves her dance time! During dinner time we ask her what she has done at school and this can lead to very interesting conversations between Daddy and Ashley. If she asks "Why?" then Daddy always comes back with a detailed answer which can then make Mommy roll her eyes. Ashley is also becoming more and more familiar with the letters of the alphabet. When we're driving in the car or reading books she can find all the A's for Ashley, M's for Mommy, and D's for Daddy. She can even find a few A's for Addie some times!
Ashley had a special visit from Willy this past month. She was so excited he was coming to see her. She clapped all the way home and when we turned the corner and she saw his car in the driveway she squealed with glee! This was one of the nights/mornings Ashley decided to get out of her bed really early. When she saw Willy turn on the light in the kitchen she asked if the donuts were here. I told her Willy had to go get them first. As far as she was concerned he didn't get them fast enough! Later that day when we were on our way to Henry's football game she was very concerned about where Willy was, she wanted to see his car. We kept telling her he was right behind us, but she wanted to see him. Now as we drive down the road she tells us Willy is just "over there."
Besides watching Henry play football this month, Ashley also got a lot of musical time in with Henry. She played guitars and the piano with Henry this month!
Ashley had her first visit to a fire station this month. At the same time we pulled in the parking lot the fire truck was pulled out of the garage. She immediately said she didn't want to get out the car. She was very serious the entire time we were there and would not talk to the fire fighters. As soon as we got in the car to go home she couldn't stop talking about the fire station!
Along with her first pair of ballet shoes, Ashley also got her first pair of boots this month. She loves them!
Every Sunday Ashley likes to point out all the different "beautiful castles" she sees on the way to church. There are a lot of hotels between our house and church.
When we open the blinds Ashley says we are "turning the windows on." And when we close the blinds she says we are "turning the windows off."
And to top it all off Ashley has discovered she can open her bedroom door. This means she can wake up Mommy and Daddy at all hours of the night...and she does! One night she was up 4 times. And the funny part is every time she opens her door she always has to close it before she ventures off to other parts of the house. As Daddy told her the other night, "The number one rule is if the sun is asleep then you stay in your bed!" We'll see how that works out!
