Another month! We can't believe it!! We've spent a lot of time at home lately. We're in the middle of getting Ashley's big girl room ready. It won't be long until Ashley's sleeping in her big girl bed. We're just not sure Ashley understands what's going on yet, but she really enjoyed getting into all of the stuff we moved out of the room. She found all kinds of things Mommy used in her former classrooms! We'll get all of that out later to play with.
We're enjoying spring like weather for the most part. Ashley loves to be outside. She has taken several wagon rides around the neighborhood, spent a lot of time in her swing, and loves to be in her playhouse. Playing peek-a-boo with the door of her playhouse is one of her favorites! At school her teacher says Ashley really likes to play chase with her friends, but sometimes get tired of doing the chasing. So apparently she prefers to be the chased!
Mommy and Daddy have observed that Ashley can be a little commanding at times. She frequently will say "Get up Daddy. Get up Daddy!" and "Come on Mommy. Come on Mommy!" She also is in a whispering stage. Many times we will hear her whispering to her stuffed animals...if we only knew what she was saying! She may be commanding, but she is also polite. Most of the time Ashley will say "pease" and "thank you" when asking for something. And she even says "scuse me."
Swim lessons still remain a highlight in our week. Ashley is in a class with one other child so she is getting lots of one-on-one attention! She's learning to pull her head up out of the water, take a breath, and continue swimming. Of course she's learning so it doesn't always happen, but she loves it. Between the two children in the class their favorite time is singing The People In the Pool and making big splashes! We attempted to put Ashley's hair in a pony tail for swim lessons, but it didn't work out. We'll try barrettes next time!
Ashley continues to love to read books and sing songs. Her favorite books of the moment are about Fuzzy Bear. Each morning she likes to brush her teeth "back and forth and up and down" just like Fuzzy Bear. She also likes to put her shoes on tight and zip her coat like Fuzzy Bear. And her favorite songs right now are all about colors! We usually start with Red, go to Green, and end up singing about all the colors! And when it's time to clean up she sings "cean up, cean up." She's getting there!
