Ashley added a lot more miles to her car seat this month!
Starting with a trip to the farm in Mississippi, Ashley could not have been any better spending a total of 20 hours in her car going to and from her great grandparents house. She thought Great Grandmama's cats were the best thing ever. Ashley spent the majority of her time standing at the back porch door watching the cats. The cats were not as impressed with Ashley. Then Ashley really thought she hit the jackpot when she went to her Great Uncle James and Great Aunt Judy's house and saw all the cows walking by outside the window. And to top that off she started jumping up and down when she went to another window and saw two horses. Judy's cat even let Ashley pet her and Ashley giggled with glee! Her second cousin Martin spent a lot of time showing Ashley how to open and close the clasps on the baby carrier. Martin is very patient!
What a precious baby in an heirloom dress! While Ashley was in Mississippi she had a chance to wear her great grandmother's baby dress. Great Grandmama, Ruth Ann Doddridge Allison, was born in Olive Branch, Mississippi in 1924. A picture of Ruth Ann wearing this baby dress at the age of two hangs in her Sarah, Mississippi home.
With the little time she was at home Ashley enjoyed time at the pool with Jillian and a play date with her friend Ama from school. She also got to see Shelby and Cassidy again! And Daddy even got a visit from Ashley and Mommy at work one morning. Ashley also had her last few story times at the library for the summer. At this month's game night Ashley really got into the game with the adults. She sat up on the couch and would clap every time she thought we answered the question correctly.
Then Ashley headed to Houston to spend a couple of days with Henry and Emma at Mimi & Willy's house. Her Great-Great Aunt Ruthie sent her the perfect shirt to wear to see Wily. Ashley had no idea how fun the pool could be until she had Henry and Emma to swim with her. Ashley loved every minute she was in the water, which was a lot! She really liked Mimi's bubble machine that looks like a dog. And Mimi now has a new fan of her chocolate cake. Ashley would finish her plate and say "more" in sign language. Ashley also went to the butterfly exhibit while in Houston where a butterfly landed on her head. She ran around the path with her arms in the air trying to "catch" a butterfly. It was a lot of fun for everyone.
Ashley had her first trip to the American Girl store in Dallas. Ashley took Molly, Mimi's friend's doll, to get her hair done and a new outfit. Ashley kept pointing to all the dolls in the store and would say "bee" for baby and there are a lot of dolls at the American Girl store! Ashley brought home Bitty Baby's lamb from her first American Girl store visit.
Ashley came back to Dallas and spent some one on one time with Daddy while Mommy was away for a night. Then Mimi came to visit Ashley again while Mommy and Daddy went on a trip. Ashley had more fun and never missed a beat with Mimi.
