Ashley has had a very exciting 12th month. Many new firsts yet again.
First Ashley celebrated her 1st Christmas! Ashley loved playing with the presents under the tree. One present she really liked because she could pull herself up to her feet, but watch out when it starts moving! Ashley took her first steps. And there was another present Ashley loved so much she screamed when we took it away. So Daddy had to hid it in the tree! We weren't sure it was going to happen, but Mommy finished making Ashley's stocking before Santa came. Ashley had so much fun playing with her cousins, Henry & Emma, while we visited Mimi and Willy. Santa left some great presents for Ashley. Christmas morning when Ashley saw all the new toys her eyes lit up and she took off down the hall. Thanks to Henry and Emma Ashley quickly learned all the tricks to her new toys! After all the presents were open every one was busy playing and some how Ashley opened Uncle Rob's box of cookies...but she didn't get to eat any. During Christmas Ashley learned about goldfish and biscuits. Yum! Yum! Christmas night Ashley watched as Daddy and Uncle Rob played with fireworks. Can't wait to get in the middle of that! Then on to Leesville to spend a few days with Paw Paw, Maw Maw, Uncle John, Aunt Renita, Matt, and Clint. Every one was getting ready for the big LSU game. Ashley loved her "Fighting Tigers" puppet! It was a long week away from home, but so much fun!
With the new year Ashley started swim lessons! She didn't know what to think of this either! She had a very serious look on her face the entire time she was in the water, but she never cried. Once she was in the car going home she couldn't stop talking, smiling, and laughing. She was so happy! Ashley is definitely the happiest baby on the block.
Following the Christmas excitement Ashley celebrated her Winter One-derland birthday with family. Ashley was over whelmed with the number of people in her house. She's not used to all the activity so she sat back and watched every one. Ashley was very happy to have her cousins help her open all her presents. Next year she'll know exactly what to do! Ashley had a snowman cake to share with every one else and a snowman cupcake of her own. Mommy didn't realize the candle on Ashley's cake was a trick candle so it took several tries before it went out for good! And no surprise, Ashley loved her cake and ate almost all of it! After so much fun the only thing a girl could do was take a 3 hour nap!
