Addie's had a pretty good month for the most part! She didn't seem to mind being dressed up as a sheep for all of our Halloween festivities! She was the cutest little sheep at our church Trunk-or-Treat and spent game night hanging out with a little puppy, pirate, and Batman! She also tried to help the Runway Witch find her lost candy, but didn't mind passing her candy along, as she prefers milk and cereal!
Ashley is always willing to help Addie and she's always looking out for her too. We were driving down the road and Addie sneezed. Ashley said, "Bless you Addie." Ashley waited a minute and said, "Addie didn't say thank you, Mommy!" Just a second later Addie made some noises and Ashley said, "You're welcome Addie!"
Addie loves playing in her exercauser. She likes to chew on the star, pull on the sun, and spin the caterpillar. The star seems to be her favorite right now. Teeth must be right around the corner! Every day she's discovering how more of her toys work. She has also discovered her thumb. More and more Addie is getting her thumb in her mouth. Hmm???
Night time is filled with all kinds of activity at our house right now. In the middle of the night Addie woke up and starting rustling around in her crib. She kicked her legs enough that she started the aquarium. She had never done that before. As soon as the lights and music started she was silent! Now if she could only get her body in the right direction every night to start the aquarium on her own. Another early morning she woke up and was making a little bit of noise. This must have woken Ashley up because a few minutes later, through the monitor, we saw Addie's lamp come on, the aquarium turned on, and Ashley was trying to peek over the crib. She said just as sweet as could be, "It's okay Addie! You're alright." Then Ashley came running in our room saying "Addie's awake!"
Addie's always getting kisses from her big sister! Addie gives a big smile and laugh when you giver her a kiss! Addie will give a loud belly chuckle when Ashley's around to play with her. Addie loves her big sister! Addie will stretch her neck around to see where Ashley is running off to next.
Unfortunately, Addie became sick this month for the first time. She barely had a low grade fever, but the doctor said she had the flu. If she did, then it was the shortest case of the flu we've ever seen, but we did treat it as such just in case. She was a very sick baby for about 24 hours, but then was back to her bright and happy self! Nothing worse than a sick baby. We are so thankful it was nothing worse.
The best part of the month was celebrating Addie's baptism with family. We were so blessed to have the same pastor baptize Addie as Ashley. It was kind of funny because right after Addie was baptized the electricity "blinked" in the sanctuary of the church! What a way to make a statement, Addie! After church we had a family dinner at home. Mimi told Ashley it was Addie's Special Day. Ashley said, "That's cool!" Ashley was so happy to help celebrate Addie's Special Day that she kept saying "Addie's Special Day" over and over! Ashley had a great time at Addie's party.
