Addie is growing up fast! She continues to watch Ashley’s every move and is ready to be the big girl. She’s ready for dance. She’s ready for soccer. She’s ready for everything, at least according to her!
It’s been a busy time at school. She’s been learning about cooking, animals at the zoo, and the circus. Addie’s shown an interest in the kitchen in the recent past and even more so these past few weeks. Several times she’s gotten the peanut butter out on her own to start spreading it on her crackers herself. She has also tried to spread peanut butter on gummy bunnies. For zoo week Addie took her favorite elephant to school for show and tell. Every one loved it because they got to dance while the elephant sang it’s song. And, Addie loved circus week. She found her microphone at home and has continuously announced, “Gentlemen, boys, & girls! Gentlemen, boys, & girls!” Gentlemen, boys, & girls!” She never tells the gentlemen, boys, and girls what they are going to see, just gets their attention. It’s really funny to watch!
Addie has a new love of chapstick. She got chapstick in her Easter basket and loves to put it on her lips all the time. She has also found mommy’s chapstick and Ashley’s chapstick. Addie lost her chapstick one day so she started looking for it. It took her over a week, but she found it under the couch cushion! She was so happy when she found it! She’s back to smacking her lips with chapstick!
A big change in Addie’s life has been her bed. Daddy decided to take the side off of her crib so she would be able to get in and out of her bed on her own. The two weeks she would not get out of her bed unless Mommy or Daddy came into her room and got her. After that she found her freedom, and lots of it! She’s getting up at all kinds of hours of the night. One night she got up at 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30. Then she decided it would be better to sleep until 8:00. Everyone else in the house was very appreciative of the late morning sleep. Besides getting out of her bed, she has been very sweet to share her blanket with Bitty Baby; and, before she goes to sleep she takes a book to bed with her to read to Bitty and says her prayers.
Addie has also been very happy with the recent purchase of flip flops. She loves her flip flops! She wants to wear them all the time, but she can’t wear them to school. She comes home from school and immediately puts them on her feet. Before she can go to sleep at night she likes to make sure her flip flops are in her room so she can see exactly where they are in the morning when she wakes up. Addie loves her flip flops!
