Addie's 20th Month Update Addie is growing up fast! She is doing all kinds of talking and letting every one know what she wants, when she wants it! Addie is really enjoying reading books. Every day she comes up to Mommy and Daddy and says “Books! Books!” Her current favorite books are Snuggle Puppy and Pajama Time! When she wants to read she says “uppy, uppy” and when she wants to read Pajama Time she says “japa, japa” and don’t think you can get away without reading her the whole thing! She knows! When she’s hungry she says “mo” for more or “ack” for snack. If you try to give her something she doesn’t want to eat she lowers her head and shakes it back and forth saying “no!” like “Are you crazy? Do you really think I want to eat that?” And her favorite thing to eat is fruit, particularly bananas! Followed closely by cake or chocolate! Addie didn’t miss a beat during her stay at Mimi and Willy’s house. She did a lot of relaxing (sleeping in and taking long naps) and got to go to Build-A-Bear for the first time! She was so happy when she got in the store. She came home with a Bee Mine bear. She kept Mimi and Willy hopping from place to place because Addie likes to move fast! Addie found all kinds of stuff Mimi forgot she had! This month Addie learned to sleep past 5:30am! What a relief for Mommy and Daddy, especially on all of our snow days! Addie did a lot of dancing to Daddy’s Rock Band during our snow days. We tried to finger paint (which she has done at school) but she put her fingers in the paint and then directly in her mouth. When she was all cleaned up she colored while the rest of us painted. Addie wanted no part of playing with the very cold snow. She had her very own bucket of snow in the house but she put her hand on it and immediately walked away saying “co.” She preferred watching Ashley and Daddy outside through the window during the cold winter days. Addie loves to play with Ashley’s Bitty Baby. It’s a good thing Ashley doesn’t mind sharing. The first thing Addie looks for in the morning is Bitty. She will walk in Ashley’s room and say “baby” until she can find Bitty. Addie is also very fond of Ashley’s new Madeline doll. We have to keep a close eye on the shoes because more than one has found their way into Addie’s mouth! You should never really be surprised at what Addie comes around with in her hands. She was sitting in her highchair eating a snack when suddenly Mommy turned around to see Addie playing the drums with the spatulas! She loves to get the phone from Mommy and Daddy’s room. She’s a great helper when it comes time to clean out the dishwasher! And unfortunately, she discovered the new drawer where all the DVDs and gaming remote controls are stored! Addie had a Valentine’s Day party at school with her friends. Her teacher said she had a blast with two new friends that are visiting her class as they transition to her class from the infant room. Addie shared cupcakes and cookies with her class. Daddy brought Addie a flower for Valentine’s Day. She had an interesting time playing with it before waving it high and fast! Flower petals started going everywhere. Her flower is now in a pretty vase on the counter. She just laughed and laughed! Addie is one very happy girl and we are all very thankful!
