What a big month for Addie! She enjoyed every moment leading up to Christmas. She kept a close eye on Ashley to make sure she didn't miss anything. This month Addie has made a huge leap in her speech. At the beginning of the month she was still saying a few words, but now she is trying to say everything! Whenever she sees a dog she says "puppy" and to her a pig says "wee, wee." She has spent time at school focusing on colors and it's so fun to hear her say her colors. One afternoon in the car she named all the different colors of our coats. And if you even mention it's time to leave Addie is the first one to find her coat!
The Christmas holidays were a true delight with Addie. It is such a blessing to see the world through her eyes and the holidays were no exception. She made a game of trying to open presents under the Christmas tree for weeks! She did a pretty good job of leaving the ornaments alone for the most part, but every once in a while would bring you one, just to keep you on your toes. Every morning Addie would go looking for Arite, our Elf on the Shelf. Several mornings she would be the first to find him. You knew she had found him because she would start jumping up and down, pointing, and say, "Artie! Artie!" She would also point out all of the places he had been before. She remembered them all. Addie was a big hit at Ashley's class Christmas party at school. When she came in the room the older children started running after her. They literally chased her around the room. Thankfully Daddy was there to save her from her fans!
Unfortunately Addie came down with an ear infection right before Christmas. She wasn't feeling all that well, and did a lot of sleeping. But, when she was awake, she didn't let her illness slower her down! When ever she saw a picture of Santa she would say something that sounded a lot like Santa. Although she wasn't too keen on sitting on Santa's lap, Addie was very excited with all the new toys he left for both her and Ashley. Addie didn't mind one bit getting into anything of Ashley's! Addie had so much fun riding with Ashley in their sports car from Santa. She had the biggest grin and gives the biggest belly laugh every time she goes for a spin!
Addie loves music. If she hears music she immediately stops what she's doing and starts moving her head, then her hips, then her feet. It's so fun to watch her. It makes you want to get up and dance too! Addie is early to rise every morning, but her bright smiling face makes every minute worth it!
