It's been an adventurous month with Addie climbing and rocking! She is on a rocking streak right now of finding every rocking chair in our house, getting up on it, and rocking to her heart's content! She even figured out how to climb up on the kitchen bench all by herself. She pushed her Rocking Blue Puppy all the way across the living room to use it as a step to get on top of the bench! Whereever there is a possible step she will find a way to use it to get to a higher place! If she's not climbing or rocking then she's probably squeezing her way into a spot to hide. She will get in a tiny place and start giggling!
Addie's had several adventures outside the house this month also. We were together with friends for game night when a strange animal crossed Addie's path. It was a sweet cat, but when Addie came face to face with the cat she let out the loudest scream! Apparently Addie is not a fan of live animals, although she loves to listen to every one around her make animal noises. She's doing her very best to make sounds like a dog, duck, and a cow.
This month it was very noticeable how much she is enjoying swim lessons. Her face lights up when she gets in the swimming pool while her hands get to splashing! It's really fun to be a apart of her swimming time. She is doing really well being under water for up to 10 seconds at a time and is kicking her legs while moving her arms. She even enjoys practicing blowing bubbles in the bathtub.
Halloween was a lot of fun. She didn't really understand why she was dressed up, but loved trick-or-treating. She wanted to walk all by herself and kept a very close eye on her pumpkin full of candy. She did not want any one else carrying her pumpkin! It was getting really heavy and Addie was tilted to the side, even dropped it a couple of times, but would start screaming if any one tried to carry her pumpkin. It was a real joy to watch her walk down the street with Ashley.
Addie is having a great time at school. Apparently at school Addie does a lot of things she doesn't do at home. One of those things is eat green beans! Her teachers said she will eat more green beans than any one else in her class, but she throws them on the floor at home! And, Addie uses lot of different words at school (like naming animals, colors, andclassmates), but she hardly says a word at home. That could be due to the fact that it's very difficult for any one in our house to get a word in because Ashley is always talking!
At school and at home Addie does a great job of following directions. She puts toys away when her teacher asks and sometimes drops things on the floor just so she can say "uh-oh!" At school and a home she loves to play in the kitchen area and change the baby dolls diapers. If you ask her to take a bath she heads right for the bathroom. And, when you ask her to if she wants to take a nap or go to bed she walks straight to her bed.
Unfortunately Addie ended the month on a sad note. As Ashley put it "some one at school put a bug in Addie's tummy." She had rough time getting over a sick tummy. We think she is on the up side because her bright, shiny face with lots of giggles is returning. We are all very thankful!
